Sneak Peak: Monica And Simone Wedding

Last night, we capped off our 2008 wedding season with Monica and Simone. Being a very italian wedding, there was a ton of food and whole lot of dancing!

Getting there wasn’t as pleasant however. Though we left the house with plenty of time to get there, we sat in bumper to bumper traffic for nearly an hour from a few exits before the Tappanzee Bridge all the way across the span. Thankfully, we still got there on time - being late to a wedding is a photographer’s #1 fear!

This was also the first time we decided to switch sides and start using the new Nikon D3. Since I had some time to play with it prior to the wedding, using it was a breeze … although switching between the Canon Mark III and the Nikon D3 did prove challenging at times! However, with very low noise levels at 6400 ISO … I was thoroughly impressed! But back to the wedding …

Held at the Westchester Manor, both the ceremony and the reception went perfectly! The endless amounts of food started with the cocktail hour with its carving stations, pasta everything and some really good hot dishes. From there, it was a complete four course meal topped with salad, pasta, meat, fish and wonderful wedding cake.

The DJ and MC also did a great job of keeping everyone on the dance floor. I think the only time that the floor was empty was during the traditional slow dances between the parents and the newlyweds!

Overall we had a blast with Monica, Simone and all of their friends and family. We couldn’t have ended the season on a better note! Now it’s time to get ready for 2009!

Here are some sneak peak shots from last night … We would love to show you more (because we got some awesome shots of the bride and groom) … but you’ll have to wait for the homepage update!

Sneak Peak: Laurel And Patrick Wedding

The final part of our little mini series covers the wedding between Laurel and Patrick - a fun loving couple who has also been together for what seems like an eternity! As you might remember, we did an engagement session for them for them back in July …

Because their wedding was taking place a bit earlier in the day, we headed out early Sunday morning to meet up with the bride in Wayne New Jersey to provide some coverage of her and the rest of the bridal party getting ready before the ceremony. From the hair to the makeup, we snapped shots of it all as Laurel and Patrick are very similar to us - they love photographs and capturing those little details!

Since we would also be covering the wedding and reception via video as well, Sean (my brother and trusted videographer) decided to tag along a bit early so he could add some of his own style to our photographs before he was needed behind the video lens. He added his own views to our shots and helped get the bride, groom and anyone else positioned for some of our shots.

As Laurel finished up and headed over to the Tides in Haledon, Sean and I went down the hallway of the hotel to meet up with Patrick and his groomsmen. Though a bit nervous for the big day ahead, Patrick was ready to get married more than any groom I’ve met before. We were able to translate that energy into some great shots of Patrick in the room and in the nearby elevator (which I think we broke).

Once we were all set, Sean and I headed out for the Tides to capture Laurel in the final stages before the ceremony. Unfortunately, we missed a turn and took the long way around. After a few sweaty moments of not knowing where we were or where we were going, we finally found the right road and made a dash for the Tides.

The rest of the day went extremely smooth and we captured some incredible shots of this amazing couple. After a great cocktail hour, a few drinks and a very good DJ and MC … nearly everyone at the reception was jammed onto the dance floor having the time of their lives.

As the night finally wound down, we all looked at each other and couldn’t believe how fast the day had gone. Here is a sneak peak from one very fun wedding …

Sneak Peak: Beth And Tommy Wedding

The first part in our mini series includes the wedding of Tommy and Beth, two very close friends of ours …

These two have been dating for what seems like an eternity. After little resistance from either side to finally make it official, they finally decided on a date … none other than Halloween. Though they didn’t have everyone dress up in costumes for the occasion, a few decorations did make their way onto the dance floor during the night!

After a wild week of weather, Friday turned out to be beautiful, sunny and surprisingly warm. Taking place at the Grand Chalet in Wayne New Jersey, the ceremony was held in a cozy garden on the side of the building. After the “I Do’s” and exchanging of the rings, we gathered all of the family together for the usual group shots as the cocktail hour was getting underway. We worked our magic and as the sun finally set, we finished up our shots and headed in for the party.

As the everyone partied hard, we snuck out the newlyweds for some “experimental shots” that we dreamnt up as we checked out all that the Grand Chalet had to offer. Here are some sneak peak shots from their big day! We’ll have some more posted soon …

Sneak Peak: Megan And Kyle Wedding

Megan and Kyle couldn’t have picked a better day for a wedding - yesterday was bright and beautiful with just a slight fall chill in the air and the trees seemed to hold onto their brightly colored leaves just for us. A traditional wedding of sorts, this was our first encounter with an incredible number of people in the wedding party - 14 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen - including a “man of honor” and a “best woman”.

Loretta and I arrived at Megan’s parent’s house around 2PM to find the house in a state of controlled chaos. Bridesmaids getting ready, family hanging around and everyone else looking for pieces to clothing, shoes and any last items needed to finish up. Since Megan was still getting her hair done, we wandered around the house and took some shots of the little details inside and out - including the car that they would be riding in for the day …

Once Megan arrived, she gathered the remaining items that she needed and proceeded to get ready. This included a walk outside to do her makeup under the sun. As she said, “If you are going to be outside you might as well do your makeup outside so you look your best!” Just after that comment, I grabbed this shot of some of her makeup items just sitting there on the deck … you have to love the little details …

Once she was finished, we headed back inside as she would soon be jumping into her dress. As the door closed, her father patiently waited outside for a chance to see his daughter - for the last time as his little girl - in her beautiful wedding dress …

… and when he did, neither of them could hold back the tears …

As the day progressed, we captured some beautiful moments between Kyle and Megan during their ceremony at the Chapel In The Pines at Koinonia …

… and during their reception along the Delaware River in New York. As the night got under way, we captured some more fun and interesting shots of Kyle, Megan and most of the few hundred people that attended - though they made our jobs much easier as everyone wanted to be in front of our lenses! Here is one last detail shot for the road …
