Sneak Peak: Monica And Simone Wedding
Sunday, November 30, 2008Last night, we capped off our 2008 wedding season with Monica and Simone. Being a very italian wedding, there was a ton of food and whole lot of dancing!
Getting there wasn’t as pleasant however. Though we left the house with plenty of time to get there, we sat in bumper to bumper traffic for nearly an hour from a few exits before the Tappanzee Bridge all the way across the span. Thankfully, we still got there on time - being late to a wedding is a photographer’s #1 fear!
This was also the first time we decided to switch sides and start using the new Nikon D3. Since I had some time to play with it prior to the wedding, using it was a breeze … although switching between the Canon Mark III and the Nikon D3 did prove challenging at times! However, with very low noise levels at 6400 ISO … I was thoroughly impressed! But back to the wedding …
Held at the Westchester Manor, both the ceremony and the reception went perfectly! The endless amounts of food started with the cocktail hour with its carving stations, pasta everything and some really good hot dishes. From there, it was a complete four course meal topped with salad, pasta, meat, fish and wonderful wedding cake.
The DJ and MC also did a great job of keeping everyone on the dance floor. I think the only time that the floor was empty was during the traditional slow dances between the parents and the newlyweds!
Overall we had a blast with Monica, Simone and all of their friends and family. We couldn’t have ended the season on a better note! Now it’s time to get ready for 2009!
Here are some sneak peak shots from last night … We would love to show you more (because we got some awesome shots of the bride and groom) … but you’ll have to wait for the homepage update!
